Abstract

This paper explores the optimal strategy for moving through rain to minimize wetness, considering motion at various speeds and angles. Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional models (rectangular and elliptical) are analyzed under rain from different directions. The study derives equations to calculate relative wetness depending on body orientation, speed, and rain angle. Results indicate that optimal speed and angle depend on body shape and rain direction, and suggest broader applications of the model beyond weather, including particle flow environments.
